Last Year's Dress

I am the world's biggest procrastinator. And that's the reason I have about a hundred little projects all around my studio that were started, some years ago, and are still awaiting completion. This little dress was one of those projects--I drafted the patterns for this last year when A. was a year and a bit old. I started 5 dresses, one intended for A. and the rest for my shop. One is now finished and four little dresses are hanging, half-made, in the closet--perhaps a grandchild will benefit from one of those!

Ah well, I was quite proud to have finished this one with the purple flowers for A., though the length is obviously more suited to her last year's baby self! At least it is light and breezy and perfect for the warmer weather.

I snapped a few photos of A. in her little dress yesterday as she danced around in the evening sunshine.

Taking care of her favourite baby, Gino.

So, today I was working on...my very first tutorial! It is for a simple toddler blouse incorporating my first attempts at using fold over elastic (FOE). Hope to have that up on the weekend!

See you soon.

  1. you could always make some little shorts in a solid colour to match the dress-or some little footless leggings if the weather wasn't too too hot-looks sweet anyway though!

  2. Thank-you! The leggings are a great idea--I think I will do that so that A. can wear this one for awhile!
